Maudie Brady

Maudie Brady is an established mid-career sculptor whose distinctive artistic voice is rooted in the classical tradition while remaining deeply connected to contemporary approaches to portraiture and the human figure. Based in Florence, Italy, she has developed an internationally recognized practice characterized by refined technical skill, psychological sensitivity, and a profound understanding of anatomy, form, and expression.

Brady is a member of the distinguished London-based Society of Portrait Sculptors (SPS), with whom she exhibits annually. She currently serves as one of the Academic Program Directors at the Florence Academy of Art, where she contributes to the development of rigorous educational programs dedicated to traditional artistic training. Through her academic leadership and teaching, she plays an important role in supporting a new generation of artists while continuing to advance her own sculptural practice.

Throughout her career, Brady has received several prestigious juried awards and honors in recognition of the quality and originality of her work. Her sculptures are represented in museum collections, and she has completed a number of significant public commissions, creating works designed to engage with architectural, historical, and cultural settings.

Her expertise has also led to invitations to serve as a guest juror for internationally renowned art competitions, including Figurativas and the Art Renewal Center Salon. These appointments reflect her respected position within the field of contemporary realism and figurative sculpture, as well as her extensive knowledge of sculptural practice and artistic excellence.

Brady’s work has been presented in numerous exhibitions across Europe and internationally, contributing to an extensive and continually evolving exhibition history. She has also been featured in interviews and articles published by leading art publications, where her creative process, artistic philosophy, and commitment to figurative sculpture have been explored in depth.

Currently self-represented, Maudie Brady offers her work exclusively through her official website and through private visits to her studio in Florence, where collectors and visitors can experience her sculptures within the environment in which they are conceived and created.
