The Guide Artists proudly presents a new collectible art book celebrating the extraordinary work of Hiroshi Hayakawa, featuring a carefully curated selection of artworks created between 2012 and 2026. More than a catalog, this beautifully produced volume offers an immersive journey through over a decade of artistic exploration, showcasing Hayakawa's distinctive practice across drawing, painting, sculpture, alternative photography, and paper-based works.
Born and raised in Japan, Hayakawa studied French Literature at Keio University before relocating to the United States in 1991 to pursue a career in the arts. He later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Columbus College of Art & Design and a Master of Fine Arts from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Today, he serves on the faculty at CCAD while maintaining an active international exhibition career.
At the heart of the publication is Hayakawa's acclaimed Vanitas series—a compelling body of work that reflects on mortality, impermanence, beauty, and decay. Through exquisitely detailed linework, organic structures, and rich symbolic imagery, he creates compositions that are both visually captivating and intellectually profound. His work invites viewers to contemplate the fragile balance between life and death, permanence and transformation.
Thoughtfully designed and crafted as a lasting collectible, this edition reflects the same level of care and attention to detail found throughout Hayakawa's artistic practice. Whether you are an art collector, curator, gallery professional, or admirer of contemporary art, this publication offers an exceptional opportunity to experience the breadth and depth of one of today's most distinctive artistic voices.
