Brett Andrus
Brett Andrus is a Colorado-born figurative painter whose career has been shaped by discipline, resilience, and a deep commitment to the emotional power of painting. His work explores the human figure as a space for memory, vulnerability, transformation, and psychological tension.
After studying painting and art history at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Andrus returned to Colorado in 2001. In 2009, he co- founded The Modbo and S.P.Q.R., two galleries in downtown Colorado Springs that became important platforms for artists and the local creative community. Today, he leads Bosky Studio, a multidisciplinary space dedicated to painting, exhibitions, education, and artistic exchange.
Between 2010 and 2025, Andrus presented nineteen solo exhibitions in cities including Denver, Santa Fe, Colorado Springs, and Trinidad. His work has received several distinctions, including the Pikes Peak Arts Council’s Artist of the Year Award in 2016, as well as recognition as a finalist in major international art awards.
In 2018, Andrus was diagnosed with a rare, slow- progressing form of leukemia. Chemotherapy treatment, which began in 2021, caused serious complications that nearly cost him his eyesight. After fourteen months of treatment and four eye surgeries, he recovered his vision and is now disease-free.
This experience transformed his relationship with painting. Each day in the studio became an act of gratitude and a reaffirmation of what he almost lost. That emotional intensity remains present in works marked by fragility, silence, and suspended reality.
Andrus combines traditional figurative painting with elements of magical realism, symbolism, and surreal atmosphere. His figures inhabit ambiguous environments where the familiar and the uncanny coexist, inviting viewers to construct their own emotional narratives.
In 2026, Brett Andrus will publish an international monograph with The Guide Artists. The book will bring together key works and personal reflections, marking a new stage of global visibility for an artist whose practice is defined by resilience, community, and the transformative power of painting.

This June, The Guide Artists presents the summer edition of its International Art Market Catalogue, a physical and digital publication created to connect artists with collectors, galleries, museums, art brands, hotels, interior design spaces, and selected cultural environments worldwide.
More than a catalogue, this new edition is conceived as a refined platform for art: a carefully curated publication where each artist can present their work with elegance, visibility, and a direct connection to the international art market.
Released each season, the catalogue brings together a distinguished selection of artists whose works reflect identity, technique, visual strength, and a unique artistic vision. Our purpose is to offer a serious and professional space where art can be discovered, promoted, collected, and experienced beyond the traditional limits of a publication.
At The Guide Artists, we continue to work under the spirit of our slogan:
“Discovering and presenting the finest artists of our era.”
