On the Cover Alba Domènech
In this September Special, we are proud to present on our cover one of the most talented artists we have had the opportunity to discover: Alba Domènech.
Born in Barcelona in 1983, Alba has developed a distinctive artistic language inspired by surrealism and Japanese aesthetics. Her work explores the dreamlike, the feminine, identity, and the subconscious, with the butterfly as one of her most recognizable symbols, representing fragility, transformation, and inner strength.
For Issue 107, we have selected her work Saikai for our cover, a piece that beautifully reflects the artist’s sensitivity and unique visual universe.
Her practice is distinguished by the fusion of hand-drawn digital art and traditional painting. Beginning with her digital designs, Alba then incorporates resin, gold, pigments, inks, acrylics, and various textures, creating artworks with depth, materiality, and a distinctive identity.
For Alba, this combination represents a meeting point between the past and the future, where technology and tradition come together to create a deeply personal artistic expression.

En este Especial de Septiembre, presentamos en nuestra portada a una de las artistas más talentosas que hemos tenido la oportunidad de conocer: Alba Domènech.
Nacida en Barcelona en 1983, Alba ha construido un lenguaje artístico propio, inspirado en el surrealismo y la estética japonesa. Su obra explora lo onírico, lo femenino, la identidad y el subconsciente, con la mariposa como uno de sus símbolos más reconocibles: fragilidad, transformación y fuerza interior.
Para este Issue 107, hemos elegido su obra Saikai como portada, una pieza que representa de manera excepcional la sensibilidad y el universo visual de la artista.
Su práctica destaca por la fusión de dibujo digital realizado a mano y pintura tradicional. A partir de sus diseños digitales, Alba incorpora posteriormente resina, oro, pigmentos, tintas, acrílicos y diferentes texturas, creando obras con profundidad, materia y una identidad única.
Esta combinación representa para ella un encuentro entre el pasado y el futuro, donde la tecnología y la tradición se unen para dar forma a una expresión artística profundamente personal.
