Interviewer:

Elda, thank you for taking the time to speak with us. Your unique and distinctive approach

to showcasing art is truly fascinating. At what point in your life did you decide to become an

artist? What inspired you to start painting?

Elda Q Serenade:

Thank you so much for your kind words; they truly mean a lot to me. From a young age, I was drawn to art, encouraged by my parents, who taught me to draw. I was also inspired by the creative worlds of manga and the beautiful works of William-Adolphe Bouguereau, which I first came across in a book at a bookstore. Those early influences sparked my passion and set me on the path to becoming an artist.

Interviewer:

We’ve had the opportunity to admire some of your works, and one element that particularly

stands out is gold. You use it to highlight specific parts of your drawings. What message are

you hoping to convey to your audience through your pieces?

Elda Q Serenade:

In my work, I use gold to evoke time. The glow of gold captures the fleeting nature of moments, while its essence brings a sense of lasting presence. The figures and scenes in my pieces are meant to express quiet and solitude, yet there is also an undercurrent of hope, like a soft glow suggesting something deeper beneath the surface. Through these elements, I hope to gently convey the delicate balance between loneliness and hope, without directly stating these emotions.

Interviewer:

In any profession, having a comfortable and peaceful workspace is essential for working effectively and achieving satisfaction with the results. In your case, what is your favorite

place to create your art?

Elda Q Serenade:

For me, the ideal space to create my art is one that feels both inspiring and calming. I find that a quiet, well-lit environment with minimal distractions allows me to focus deeply on my work. I especially enjoy working in a space where natural light gently filters in, as it helps create a peaceful atmosphere. Surrounding myself with things that inspire me further enhances my creativity.

Interviewer:

Your social media presence allows you to showcase your creations and engage more

directly with your audience. Besides social media, do you share your art in other ways?

Elda Q Serenade:

Besides social media, I also share my work through published books and art exhibitions. Books offer a wonderful way to showcase a collection of my pieces and share the story behind them, while exhibitions give me the chance to connect with people directly and allow viewers to experience the art up close.

Interviewer:

We know that every artist sometimes faces moments when inspiration seems elusive—a

frustrating experience for anyone. What is it like for you to encounter such creative blocks?

How do you overcome them?

Elda Q Serenade:

Creative blocks are something every artist encounters at times. When this happens, I try not to force the process. Instead, I step back from my work to give myself time to reflect and recharge. I’ve found that inspiration often returns when I least expect it—whether through a quiet walk, reading, or simply observing the world around me.

Interviewer:

Many artists rely on specific techniques or methods to craft their works, such as listening

to music for inspiration or traveling to take in new landscapes. Could you share any

particular methods or techniques you use when creating your art?

Elda Q Serenade:

When creating my art, I also enjoy listening to music, as it helps set the mood and guides the flow of my work. I draw great inspiration from reading—beautiful sentences from books often evoke rich associations and ignite my imagination. Additionally, astronomy and stargazing are sources of inspiration for me; the vastness and quiet beauty of the night sky often evoke a sense of wonder and exploration, allowing me to reflect on themes of time and existence through my art.

An Unknown Promise

Finally, we’re curious to know: do you have any passions or hobbies outside of art?

Elda Q Serenade:

Outside of art, I have a sincere appreciation for reading, particularly books with beautiful designs. I also find joy in collecting stationery that combines both quality and craftsmanship. I occasionally practice calligraphy, as the rhythm and grace of the characters provide me with a sense of fulfillment akin to that of painting.

Thank you very much for this thoughtful interview!
