Kateryna Reznichenko Painting the Invisible Ties

Painting the Invisible Ties

Kateryna Reznichenko is a Ukrainian artist from Lviv, based in Seattle, USA. Born in 1997 and educated at the Ivan Trush Lviv College, she completed her master's degree in the Lviv National Academy of Arts in the Monumental Art Department. She works primarily with oil painting and watercolor. Her works are kept in private collections in Ukraine, Slovenia, Poland, Austria, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Monaco, Cyprus, and the USA.

For Kateryna Reznichenko, art is not merely a visual discipline; it is a language in its own right, a space where thought, memory, and emotion converge without the need for words. Her paintings navigate the delicate threshold between clarity and collapse, between what is controlled and what is surrendered.

Deeply attracted to the tension between precision and unpredictability, Kateryna weaves together finely rendered realism with spontaneous, abstract gestures. Her process is fluid and intuitive: stains, textures, and erratic marks emerge organically, giving the materials a voice of their own.

Within each composition, a single unplanned gesture often becomes the pivotal moment, a subtle shift where intention surrenders to chance.

Rather than striving to capture a likeness, Kateryna’s work reveals a deeper state—one of transformation, vulnerability, and becoming. Themes of resistance, metamorphosis, and ancestral memory echo across her canvases. Each painting becomes an emotional totem, a symbol of the invisible connections between nature, history, and the self.
