Alessio Deli

Alessio Deli was born in Marino, in the province of Rome, in 1981. After studying at the Art Institute of Marino graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara where he specialized in sculpture.

Subsequently he obtained the teaching qualification for the plastic disciplines at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.

His area of ​​research and artistic production, which began in his formative years, has developed and enriched in the last decade on themes of a figurative nature, both in drawing and in sculpture.

His sculptural style has deep roots in the classical tradition. This relationship between contemporary and classic has been based over the years through the recovery of abandoned and recycled materials while, starting from 2016, his artistic production begins to favor traditional materials such as bronze and stone, staging a real own stylistic recovery e form of memory and historical identities linked to the Italian plastic tradition.

Jorge Egea

Doctor of Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona in 2005 with a dissertation entitled “Modeling, Creation, and Knowledge. Spiritus Classicus.” Since 2003, Egea has served as a professor in the Department of Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona and has frequently worked as a visiting professor at several European universities. As a researcher, he is a member of the Gracmon research group in the Department of Art History (University of Barcelona) and currently serves as the director of the Catalan Institute for Research in Sculpture (ICRE).

As a sculptor, he has maintained a strong presence on the international sculpture scene since 1992, regularly exhibiting in France, Italy, the United States, and Japan. Likewise, he is a frequent participant in art exhibitions in Spain. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards, grants, and widespread recognition. Materiality, corporeality, and form are the primary focuses of his sculpture. His classical approach to modeling makes his work a continuous object of research and experimentation, developed through the team The Crossing Lab, co-directed with Ramón Casanova. The laboratory has served as the starting point for several projects related to the study and intervention of sculpture collections in various European museums.

In addition, he is the author of numerous publications, both on his own work and projects, as well as studies of other artists and artistic trends, with a particular focus on commissioned curatorial work on Catalan figurative sculpture of the 19th and 20th centuries.
