In Issue 4, Kikyz1313 changes the game
Querétaro, Mexico, 1988. Kikyz1313 is a prominent visual artist trained at the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, known for her ability to blend the beautiful and the grotesque in deeply personal worlds. Her work explores violence, the strange, the absurdity of everyday life, imaginary fantasies, and childhood memories, offering subtle and provocative critiques of the materialistic world we inhabit.
Her obsessive attention to detail has allowed her to develop a unique style realized in intricate paintings and drawings. This led to two solo exhibitions: Progeny of Chaos (2016, Los Angeles) and Body Puzzles (2017, Seattle). In June 2017, Kikyz1313 was featured on the cover of Issue 4, a recognition of her impact on the contemporary art scene. She has also appeared in cover stories and publications of The Guide Artists Magazine, including a book published by the magazine, further establishing her presence in the international art world.
Her work has reached global audiences, presented at fairs such as Scope in New York and Miami (2013), Moniker in the UK (2019), LA Art Show in Los Angeles (2015), and Zona Maco in Mexico City (2024–2025), as well as in numerous group exhibitions in museums and galleries across Mexico, the United States, Europe, and Australia.
Remembering her appearance on the cover of Issue 4, June 2017, and her features in The Guide Artists Magazine, including the book published by them, highlights the moment when her artistic vision transcended borders and cemented her reputation among audiences and critics alike.
